Panic disorder

This is a more difficult problem to treat and requires medications and psychotherapy in combination to achieve better results. Pharmacotherapy involves using antidepressants, and the most commonly used types of psychotherapy are cognitive and behavioral psychotherapy.
Patients should be reassured in the emergency room as they receive attention. Their panic attacks usually last a few minutes and typically resolve in half an hour. They are more likely to improve if they are resting in a calm environment.
